Jerry Burge is a highly accomplished bilingual (English-Spanish) educator with over 30 years of experience in education. He is the seventh born of eight siblings, and the first to graduate from college. Currently, Burge holds an associate degree in Psychology, a B.A. in Speech Communications, and a M.A. in Education with a credential in Counseling and Guidance.
Growing up in a one bedroom apartment with six family members in the inner-city streets of South Central L.A., not only pushed Burge to a level of resiliency and optimism, but became the grounds in which he educates and inspires his clientele to effectively and relatively smoothly navigate their way to their desirable future.
For 12 years, Burge worked in the California youth correctional system mentoring male and female wards. He has taught and counseled, Cal Poly State University San Luis Obispo, Los Angeles Unified School District, Hawaii School District, and San Luis Coastal Unified School District students as well as, young boys residing at the Hesed Boys Group Home.
Burge has had extensive experience working around the world leading grassroots self-sufficiency projects in Yucatán, Mexico (2003), Kauai, Hawaii (2003, 2005, 2007, 2010, 2014), Nusa Lembognan, Indonesia (2008, 2014), Los Angeles, California (2008-2014), and currently, Long Beach, California (2014). His work has been covered in diverse publications and film.
In addition to education, counseling, and being the Founder and Chief Executive Officer for Analogy7, Burge strives daily to live in a way that manifest his love for Jesus Christ to mankind, and to be pleasing to his Lord and Savior. He is a video game researcher and health conscious individual who lives by example - teaching and mentoring others through Analogy7 principles. He is a true adventurist who had dreams of having the opportunity to one day become a skilled surfer, skier, cyclist, diver, and back-country winter mountaineer. Burge is now traveling the world, actively doing all of the activities that he once dreamed of as a child. At present, he has traveled to more than 32 countries. And while Burge's interest may vary, his primary passion remains to work with middle, secondary, and college age youth to effectively advance their educational skills.
